Year 6 - Myths and Legends

Year 6 have hit the ground running with our new topic of ‘Myths and Legends’ this half term. We have begun reading the mythical novel, ‘The Girl of Ink and Stars’ in English. We have found out about what a ‘myth’ really is - a story with a deep, symbolic meaning which has usually survived for thousands of years. At the same time, we have been identifying how the writer uses different techniques to create imagery for the writer - so that we can do this in our own writing. We’ve also begun our Art project which involves designing and creating our own mythical creatures in a magical landscape!
