Year 1 - The Magic Toymaker!

Year 1 had a really exciting start to our new topic ‘ The Magic Toy Maker’. During the discovery days the children came to school to discover their classrooms had been turned into a toy maker’s workshop. The children were given a postcard from the Magic Toy Maker who had gone on a little holiday for a rest after the Christmas rush. He asked them to research about toys and make their own. Over the next few days the children made dolls, robots and various other toys using junk modelling resources. They all played in the new ‘Toy Shop’ role play. In Literacy, they wrote about their favourite toys and also discussed questions linked to toys.
